Free antivirus is built for one person looking after one computer. A business has thirty machines, staff who leave, laptops that go home, and no way of knowing which of them stopped updating four months ago. That gap is what managed endpoint protection closes.
What we provide
We install and manage endpoint protection across every machine in your organisation from one console, so protection is a thing you can see rather than a thing you assume.
- Protection deployed to every workstation, laptop and server, including machines that rarely come into the office
- A single view of which devices are protected, which are out of date and which have reported something
- Definitions and product updates applied centrally, not left to each user to accept
- Detections investigated by us, rather than a warning nobody reads sitting on somebody’s screen
- New machines covered as part of setting them up, and licences released when staff leave
Why business antivirus is a different product
Consumer antivirus assumes the user is the administrator, is watching the screen, and will make the right decision when a warning appears. None of those hold in an office. Business endpoint protection is centrally managed: policy is set once, applied everywhere, and reported back to somebody whose job it is to look.
The practical difference shows up on the day something is found. On a home machine, the alert is seen by whoever is sitting there. On a managed estate, it reaches us, and we can see whether the same thing has appeared anywhere else.
Where it fits
Antivirus on its own is not a security strategy, and we would rather say so. It stops known malware reaching a device. It does not stop somebody being talked into transferring money, and it does not fix a firewall nobody has reviewed since it was installed.
It works alongside spam filtering, which keeps most of it out of the inbox in the first place, web content filtering, and the firewall and patching work covered in our IT security service.
Part of our IT security service. This sits alongside the rest of what we look after, and most clients take it as part of a wider agreement rather than on its own. See the full service.
